ribbon roses (from the tags cut from new clothes), satin stitch leaves, French knots and a few scattered cross stitches made this a basic, but pretty little stitch project.

I hot glued some felt to the hoop to cover my workings in the back.

Circles of felt cut with a die
(as I am not neat enough with scissors.)
Embroidered on one piece and then sandwiched around a circle of cardboard for stability
Blanket stitch around the edge of the sandwich and fix on a safety pin to finish.
I also made a sequin tree brooch while trying to clear out some of the surplus I found.

This was going to be an appliqué beach scene so started with strips of background.
I then lost patience with the number of unfinished projects hanging around and embroidered some large scale ditzy flowers instead, added some slow stitch and fabric paint detail and turned it into a small pillow instead.

My favourite coaster/mug rug made from a collage of fabric scraps with an assortment of embroidery, slow stitch and machine embroidery.
Only I know how long it took to transform the scraps into some thing unique and useful.

First go at Japanese embroidery technique on my trendily ripped jeans.

About as detailed as I will get.

A multi media play with acrylic paint (thinned with Liquitex), free motion sewing, appliqué fabric scraps and embroidery (lots of French knots).
Intended as a bedside table mat, I put this on quilt wadding and bound it to a corduroy backing before deciding to give it another ‘use’ as a piece of art.
(Binding not as wobbly as it looks when photographed hanging on the wall!)
Feeling virtuous as the only thing I bought for this was the Liquitex.
I have resurrected an old project and tried out a few new stitches which have reignited my enthusiasm for cross stitch.
The green and white is alternating oblong and cross stitch ( just stitch over an oblong rather than a square to make the oblongs), the grey and pink is layering upright and traditional cross stitch over a double sized square and the maroon is gobelin.

I am working on a giant roll of canvas so have set myself a target of 100 stitch or colour variations, about 90 to go!
