Being challenged on the spacial awareness front I had to follow a you tube tutorial called coupon/receipt organiser by JustaFewDesigns

I added a couple of magnets and omitted her mini binder clip element but to decorate I just grabbed a pack of paper image1.jpg

and my stash of washi tape, and kept going until I felt enough was enough.

I stuck the magnets with glue dots and covered them with paper hexagons but am not sure it works too well, or is necessary.

This will hold gift vouchers, coupons and loyalty cards in my bag. Wonder how long it will hold together…

10 cards to reduce the stockpile- a bit

I must i must decrease the stockpile and here are 10 cards to make a start

i have already used the craftwork cards antiqued set and accessories quite a bit but these are very generous kits

Three cards on craft card blanks . 

two use tags from the kit and one layered die cuts . I die cut the sentiment twice to make a drop shadow

Scan n cut put to use here here with the octagon layout and a free svg of some doodles for contrast

tip for next time, octagons don’t tessellate or mosaic togetherlike hexagons would, but here studding with the Candi worked out fine

And using up my die cut flowers …

ten simple cards done in one afternoon but there are still 21 untouched pages of paper in the kit. So much paper left to play with.

Precisely cut cards using my stash of lovely papers

The ‘hello’ card was made with 7 equal squares and one double size from assorted papers with little motifs from the scan n cut library to embellish them. The card base was dry embossed at half inch intervals and then the panels mounted on fun foam and then adhered in place.

I found it easiest to position the small corner pieces first , then the large piece and then centring the remaining pieces afterwards. The embossing helped with alignment

For the baby card I used the Docrafts papermania pastels craft collection paper. I covered the card base with the small hearts paper, stuck a strip of the large icons paper centrally over it and then cut words in different fonts from brown card for the greeting.

Inside I stuck two hearts and a footer strip from complementary papers from the pad – keeping towards the blue tones. To finish I brushed the greeting with Wink of Stella glitter.

First steps in watercolour folloing a Crafts Beautiful outline determined to expand my techniques so used the freebies and copied a layout from the march issue …

I stamped the wreath and greeting with stazon on watercolour paper then cut an A2 panel of the same watercolour paper. I dug out three colour of distress inks and tapped each on an acrylic block to use as a palette) . I misted the paper and the block with water then brushed bands of ink across the paper using the largest brush I had in the craft room. I then cut the panel with one of my stitched rectangle dies, tied some jute coloured thread around, mounted it in fun foam and stuck that to an A2 card base.

I fussy cut the wreath, water coloured the design using the same three distress inks ( I don’t have a water brush so used an ancient wink of Stella to pick up the ink remnants from the acrylic block) . I stuck that on the panel and added a few sequins in the same colour range for finish

Clean and simple Christmas cards

I love making clean and simple cards, these use scraps from the seemingly everlasting Docrafts Folk Christmas kit.

I am trying to use it up before I let myself buy anymore paper but there is still lots still to work with.

I used an image from my scan n cut inbuilt library to cut 11 trees, each cut 2 cm high and mounted on small foam pads, so easy – 10 for the front and one for the insert.

I reckon this would work as well with a punch maybe in star or holly shapes if you didn’t have trees …

Wine glass tags

I ve made sets of wine glass tags today, using up Christmas paper and ribbon scraps. Feels good to have some mini gifts made ready.

I cut bauble shapes 65mm wide on the scan n cut and welded a central circle 17mm in the middle to create the gap for the stem.

To fit the tag around the Stem, I cut a slash from edge to centre (by hand as it was quicker than going to the software to set it up) and threaded scraps of ribbon through the bauble tops.

I added stickles to some of the less decorative papers but for a disposable mini gift, they really weren’t necessary.

In some sets I added napkin holders, (from scan n cut canvas projects , just a strip of paper with angled slashes at either end to loop round a serviette) with Christmas elements added to make a little Christmas buffet kit.

Presented in vellum envelopes, these would make a great craft fair goody. How much would one charge for a dozen tags in a set though? though

At 45 minutes per bag I won’t be making many of these but I do LOVE the e d result and am using stash stuff so maybe just a few more

Beautiful papers from Craftwork Cards Antiqued and Chinoiserie pads were used to make some serious cards for ‘thinking of you’ messages

I used the scan n cut to create a decoupage effect with the water lilies (very impressed with the direct cut feature now I have tried it) and the trellis strip (a border from the pattern library) Continue reading →
