Receive,Remake, Regift

Being a crafter makes it hard to dispose of greetings cards received so I feel obliged to remake them and hand them on. I feel if I add embellishments and effort it isn’t cheating on the home made card making ‘rules’.

This one received for the Channel Islands liberation day (ending 5 years of occupation in WWII) won’t be handed on until next May 9 th but I enjoyed remaking it now.

Card front cut apart then mounted on a card base once the white brads were put in to the bunting line. Googly eyes stuck on and dots of Nuevo drops added to the flowers and a piece of embroidery thread tied around the spine.

Christmas time!

Have empathy with our Australian friends and try to imagine a hot, summer Christmas by upcycling old Christmas cards on a hot day in June!

No, not getting the Christmas sparkle at all but I have tackled an overdue ‘to-do’ with 30+ cards remade. Simple cropping, matting and embellishing makes this a satisfying to reduce the stockpile of card and sparkly things. I even used up some googly eyes and red glitter glue!

Little bag of tags

Scraps of card were cut into label shapes with the scan n cut then decorated with die cuts from the enormous , seemingly endless,  Natures Gallery Docrafts bundle. I stamped ‘to’ and ‘from’ and tied twine in place then made a mini folder pocket to hold them in.

I then got in the mood with old Christmas cards cut the same way and a shaker card version too. This required a bit of organization to put the same weight of card through the scan n cut at the same pass but really effective.
